Kids need connections and community more than ever as isolation and uncertainty challenge their mental and emotional health. Young craniofacial patients and similarly medically compromised kids face even more challenges as they continue to report restricted access to planned surgeries, medical visits, therapies, special needs assistance, and psychological counseling which they typically get from school or hospitals.
We try and bridge this gap in our own small way through ongoing Camp Cosmos and Family Meet-Ups throughout the year. As one of our Camp Cosmos families stated,
"For us, the mental health piece of [Camp Cosmos & Family Meet-Ups] is so important, and it's not talked about enough, so the fact that we get to spend time with a group that provides that support and suggestions and the stuff that comes up from the parents and the kids talking, we need that, and there really isn't another place to get that...For us, ConnectMed really fills that void that we really don't have anywhere else."

You truly did bring smiles and cheer to 40 children affected by craniofacial conditions in Tijuana and Ensenada (Mexico) whose access to health care has been cut off or restricted due to the pandemic. For most kids, these toys are unlike any gifts they will receive and are truly cherished.
